Olivia Michele Pollock
Olivia’supbringing makes her seem an unlikely candidate to become a criminal fugitive. OliviaMichele Pollock grew up working alongside her siblings on their family’s farm in Kathleen, Florida, where the Pollock family has deep roots and is well-regarded. On the farm, she developed a strong work ethic, which she brought into her adult employment doing home repairs and painting.Olivia, Jonathan and their siblings were raised to be active in their Christian faith. As their mother, Tina Pollock, explained, “In Jonathan and Olivia’s youth, while street preaching, they learned to fearlessly proclaim the mysteries of the Gospel […] They carried this passion into many different ministries including missionary work in Guyana, Guatemala, disaster relief organizations, orphanages, bible schools, etc. Olivia has been involved in prison ministry for many years with her sisters and father, sharing the love of Christ and the hope we have in Him.”
Home schooled, Olivia and her siblings were also raised to be patriots. Educated in curriculum such as “America’s Godly Heritage,” the family took many trips to historical sites to learn about the history of America and its founding. Writes Tina, “This is one of the reasons Jonathan and Olivia have such a love for this country.”
A supporter of then-President Trump, Olivia was shaken by the developments and irregularities of the election of November 2020. When the President invited his supporters to join him outside the Capitol in a protest of the election on January 6th, Olivia caravanned with several members of her family and a few of their friends to Washington, D.C. to exercise their First Amendment rights “peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Olivia, Jonathan and Joseph wore tactical vests to the January 6th protest, Jonathan wearing camouflage fatigues as well. The trio were outfitted in such a way because they wereprepared to defend their fellow protestors from potential violent attacks by radical leftist groups such as Antifa, who had only weeks earlierwrought destruction outside the Supreme Court.
The Department of Justice claims that Olivia and her companions were geared up with premeditated intentions to attack Capitol police and guards.
Tina Pollock was part of the group who attended the protests and describes her distress at what they witnessed:
“When we arrived at the Capitol we were met with a chaotic scene of C.S. gas grenades, rubber bullets being shot at the crowd, along with people being beaten with batons by the Capitol Police.”
Many spectatorvideos of the chaosshow scenes thatthe DOJ and FBI do not includeamong their evidence against Olivia and other J-6 protestors. These videos show that protestors were peaceful until Capitol Police officers began attacking the crowd with tear gas and bear spray. In some instances, officers struck or pushed protestors to force them back. Some protestors fell and couldn’t breathe. When others tried to assist them, several officers interrupted their attempts. In response, some protestors began to yell at Police and engage them physically.
An FBI arrest affidavit alleges that Jonathan Pollock and the other three men in their group assaulted law-enforcement officers while pushing their way toward the U.S. Capitol building amid a mob of Trump supporters. The report further states that Olivia Pollock punched at one officer, elbowed another in the chest and tried to wrest a baton away from another. The FBI have released their own images from the riot, many taken from body cameras worn by the officers. These images allegedly show Jonathan and the other men attacking the law officers, including images of Jonathan carrying an officer’s riot shield. As of this writing, we have not found any images showing Olivia engaged in any violence.
Seasons came and went, and Olivia returned to her normal life in Florida. Until June 30, 2021, came. Before dawn could break, Olivia and her extended family were shocked awake by “flashbang” stun grenades as armed law enforcement raided the homes and buildings of the family’s shared property. A virtual army of FBI agents, U.S. Marshals and local law enforcementhad arrived in force to arrest Olivia.
One of Olivia’ssiblings, Gabriel Pollock, described his shock at the scene:
“They threw 30-something flashbangs intodifferent homes and buildings on the property. They were throwing flashbangs under [my sister Christiana]’s trailer, and she has three little girls.”
“When in America did you need three armored personnel carriers with 40 fully armored U.S. Marshals to arrest a young lady?” said Gabriel to the press. “They had over 100 FBI agents and local community cops on my mom and dad’s property for one young lady… So, really, it’s sad that the FBI has resorted to these tactics. It’s sickening what the country has gone to, something that they could have done over the phone.”
Gabriel said FBI agents confiscated electronic devices, including Olivia’s cell phone. They also confiscated his father’s Trump flag.
“I was like — so you vote for the wrong person in this country now, and you’re hauled off to jail?” Gabriel said.
Olivia and friend Joseph were both indicted the next day. In court hearings, Olivia pled “not guilty” to all counts and was placed on a High Intensity Supervision Program with a GPS ankle bracelet. The jury trial for Olivia and Joseph was scheduled to begin on August 7, 2023. Both failed to appear and disabled their GPS tracking devices.
Olivia and Joseph were now the targets of a manhunt. The FBI began to circulate “most wanted” posters of them – just like the one already posted for Olivia’s brother. (Around the time of his sister’s arrest in June, Jonathan Pollock had fled the Kathleen area.)
Five months passed. On January 6, 2024, the third-year anniversary of the events of“J-6,” the FBIissued this terse press release:
The FBI executed three federal arrest warrants early this morning at a ranch in Groveland, Florida, in Lake County.
The subjects taken into custody are January 6 fugitives Jonathan Daniel Pollock, Olivia Michele Pollock, and Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III.
In a “Justice for J6” vigil last year in nearby Lakeland, Florida, Nell Pollock, Olivia’s grandmother, said one of her grandchildrengot “in trouble” because he was rushing to protect an American flag being trampled during the commotion that he mistook for one he had brought that previously belonged to his grandfather.
“And that’s what they’re condemning him for and out to get him?” Pollock said, shaking her head.
Roxane Watkins, the event organizer said, “The reason why this is personal to me is that I spent 30 years of my life in the Air Force and I never envisioned a time that I would be standing here talking about what I view as political prisoners in America. That is something that we in the military have fought against across the world. We have died in many places to ensure that there are not political prisoners, that people are free.”
Olivia has been released on bond and is awaiting trial. She was charged with entering a restricted government area, physical violence in a restricted area, and disorderly conduct.
