Jonathan Pollock

Jonathan Pollock and his sister older Olivia were present at the J6 rallies. That is established and well-known and Jonathan’s picture has been circulated worldwide in a variety.  Twenty-two-years-old at the time of the J6 protests the Lakeland, Florida resident has been a lifelong patriot and devout Christian.  According to his mother in published interviews, both siblings were ‘fearlessly proclaiming the Gospel” on street corners as teenagers.  Home schooled and steeped in American exceptionalism, Jonathan was raised to be a patriot, studying a curriculum that included well-regard material like, “America’s Godly Heritage.” The Founding Fathers used the bible and their faith to shape our country, and even the name of his family’s gun shop, Rapture Guns & Knives where Jonathan worked, reflected their unbending faith.  And Jonathan was rattled deeply when the presidential vote count went sideways overnight.

Determined to have his voice heard and perhaps even force Congress to do a thorough investigation, he left for D.C. to attend the rallies and support President Trump.  But things did not go as planned.  No sooner had the speeches ended than Jonathan and thousands of protestors descended on the Capital. Police were ready with ‘non-lethal’ force and immediately opened fired with tear gas, rubber bullets and flash bangs on several wings of the protestors. Some were escorted into the building peacefully but most were not.  Jonathan and his companions were in the latter.  The clash escalated quickly in their group and Jonathan fought back, with his fists.  Several news accounts also offered “guilt by association” analysis as one man next to Jonathan hit a policeman about that time with his flag pole. Jonathan did not. He only used his fist to retaliate against those who assaulted him first.  He did however grab one of their riot shields and now, Jonathan Pollock was facing two felony assault charges in the eyes of the D.C. prosecutors.

A few months after returning to Florida – in June of 2021 – Jonathan and his sister and friend, Joseph Hutchinson were arrested without incident.  They were all released on their own recognizance after posting bail and were ordered to appear soon after.  They didn’t and decided that the deck was so stacked against them that they fled.  CBS News reported that Jonathan and his sister both removed their ankle monitors and disappeared before they were set to stand trial.  This however was not confirmed by any other news outlet and probably a blatant attempt to portray them as hardened criminals. Regardless, their “failure to appear” before the Judge would be yet another black mark against them.  The FBI even offered a $30,000 reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Jonathan.

The three fugitives managed to stay out of sight, undetected by the police and public for three years.  Then, on Saturday morning three years to the day of the D.C. protests, the FBI arrested them all at a ranch in Groveland, Florida, about 30 miles west of Orlando.  Jonathan was charged with 17 counts including civil disorder; assaulting, resisting or impeding police officers using a dangerous weapon; theft of government property; entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon; and an act of physical violence in the Capitol.

In the end, he was convicted on all counts and sentenced to 7 years on a federal penitentiary.  No doubt, the sentence was much harsher than many J6ers due to his fleeing and also pleading not guilty.  Pray for him and Olivia as they struggle to get back on their feet.  To affirm and uplift his spirits, you can write to him at the address below.
